Wimbledon Whites

Wimbledon is upon us and we’re just as excited to see the fashion and hair styles off court as we are on! With the traditional ruling of players required to wear whites at London’s SW19, this trend is often seen in the crowds too. After months of hiding behind dark coats and scarves wearing white can seem like a bold move, but with the weather warming up we’re excited to share how it can be a great way to mix up your style.

Ribbons.

Ribbons in the hair add femininity and are perfect if you are looking for a subtle accessory to enhance your look. We love the idea of tying a white ribbon with your pony or as a headband to add some fun to your everyday hairstyle.

Every summer wardrobe should be equipped with a white sundress, instantly allowing you to feel lighter and more in the mood to eat ice cream (just try not to spill it down your front though)! Choose one with pretty detailing incorporating embroidery or lace and style your hair in braids to add more interest to your look.

Jeans.

White jeans can sometimes get a bad rep, but this needn’t be the case! White makes colours pop so why not team your jeans with a brightly coloured or patterned top. Heels are a great way to elongate your legs and dress up your outfit. Or pair down with sandals, a simple vest top and pony tail for a more casual option. To make more of a statement go for a white top too, just make sure you mix up the textures to break up the colour. Opt for a bouncy blowdry for the ultimate in glamour!

The Suit.

Who says white has to be reserved for sundresses and kaftans? There is nothing more chic than a beautiful tailored white suit. If you’re not so keen on dresses this is a wonderful alternative to wear to a summer party or event, you will certainly stand out from the crowd and for all the right reasons!  Plus your legs won’t get chilly later on! Think poker straight hair for your blowdry portraying a more contemporary look.

The Shirt.

Last but not least there’s the classic white shirt.   No woman’s wardrobe should be without one! Team with jeans for a dressed down look- we are loving khaki trousers at the moment too, or add some bold accessories and strappy heels to take you into the evening.  JCrew, Cos and & Other Stories have a great selection.  The white shirt should be a wardrobe staple, and when combined with soft hair waves you’ll ooze effortless style.

We hope this post inspires you to introduce summer whites into your wardrobe, even if it is only through your choice of footwear.  A hint of white can go a long way! If you’re glued to Wimbledon this year, enjoy the matches as well as the celeb style spotting!  Come and see us for your Wimbledon blowdry too – we are open 7 days a week, give us a call on 020 7244 9499 or book online here.
